We are getting married!
St. Francis Winery Santa Rosa, California
About Us
Chris
Chris is a computational mathematician who loves drones and being outdoors. Chris grew up on a sailboat in the Pacific Northwest. He loves living in sunny California.
Emma
Emma is a writer and marketing consultant who loves to read, cook, and generally run the show. Emma grew up in Beverly, Massachusetts and loves being a New Englander in California.
Chris + Emma = Love
We met in 2011 on OkCupid and bonded over books. On our first date in Boston, Chris wore a gray tie and Emma ate a lot of duck fat. Soon, we were in love. A few years later, we moved to California. Now, we’re tying the knot!
Wedding Events
Ceremony & Reception
Our ceremony will be at 5:30 pm at:
- St. Francis Winery
- 100 North Pythian Road
- Santa Rosa, California
We’ll celebrate afterwards with
dinner, drinks, and dancing.
Use UberEVENT code: eov0yu8 for a discounted ride to and from
the venue.
Friday Welcome Party
Join us on Friday August 11th at Riverfront Park in Healdsburg for a casual BBQ. We'll hang out from 5-8 pm. Please carpool as parking is limited.
Sunday Farewell Brunch
On Sunday morning August 13th at 10 am, we’ll reminisce about the wedding and say goodbye over brunch.
What to Wear
We love to dress up! Our wedding dress code is garden attire, which is basically fancy but on a lawn. High heels might not be as practical as a flat sandal or wedge. Remember no one ever regretted being over dressed.
Sonoma County is very hot in August, but temperatures drop substantially at night (really!). Since our wedding is almost entirely outdoors, you'll likely need a jacket or wrap once the sun goes down.
Travel & Transport
SFO: San Francisco International Airport
To get to Sonoma Country from SFO, rent a car or use the Sonoma County Airport Express. The drive takes you over the Golden Gate Bridge, but there can be substantial traffic during weekends. SFO is 1 hour and 20 minutes from Santa Rosa.
OAK: Oakland International Airport
To get to Sonoma County from OAK, rent a car or use Sonoma County Airport Express. OAK is about 1 hour and 10 minutes from Santa Rosa.
Wedding Transportation
St. Francis Winery has ample parking. We’ll also be providing a personalized UberEVENT code so you can get to the venue on us. Uber is reliable in the area, although may have long waits at night. Lyft is not as widely available.
Where to Stay
Airbnb & VRBO
Sonoma County is a beautiful and popular destination, which means hotels are expensive. We’ve had great luck finding budget-friendly options on Airbnb and VRBO. We recommend booking soon as rooms fill up quickly.
Flamingo Resort
We have a block of rooms at the Flamingo for $239 per weekend night (minimum two nights) and $139 for weeknights. To get these rates, use this link or call (707) 545-8530 and mention “Siemasko/Maes wedding” by June 11.
We will have an informal after party at the Flamingo Lounge. There is normally a $15 cover charge, but hotel guests get in free.
Hillside Inn
Hillside Inn is a modest hotel next door to Flamingo Resort. You can expect adequate & clean rooms. Rates start at $86 per night.
Courtyard by Marriott Santa Rosa
We have a block of rooms with rates starting at $269 for Friday and Saturday nights. To reserve a room, use this link, or call (707) 573-9000 and mention "Siemasko/Maes wedding" by July 28.
Sandman Inn
Rates are currently $177 per weekend night and $109 per weekday night.
What to Do
Gravenstein Apple Fair
The Gravenstein Apple Fair is on August 12th and 13th in Ragle Ranch Park in Sebastopol. There will be live music, crafts, local food, microbrews and wine, and a life on the farm area. Get ready for apple pie: Chris’s favorite dessert.
Cornerstone Sonoma
Cornerstone Sonoma is an outdoor marketplace with cute shops and amazing modern gardens. Chris loves the fruit trees here, and Emma loves the lavender. Cornerstone is one of our favorite spots in the area.
Sonoma Plaza
The City of Sonoma has an adorable town plaza that makes Emma feel like she truly lives in the west. Sonoma has great shops and restaurants, as well as a historic Mexican military outpost and Spanish mission village.
Calistoga
Calistoga is a luxe wine country town that’s home to the Sugar Train, a train car that is also a candy store!
Also
We recommend tubing on the Russian River, biking through Sonoma, grabbing a snack at SHED, and doing a wine tasting (or three).
